A Boundary – 2016.05.04

You set a boundary they cannot cross,
never again they will cover the earth. …
Praise the Lord, O my soul!
Halleluja!
Psalm 104: 9+35
This psalm starts with the praise of God and ends with that, for He is Lord who reigns over all gloriously. He also has set a boundary to the flood of troubles; never they are allowed to cross this line. He makes sure that His word is true. He always has the last word even when the floods are raging and want to drown us. Therefore we can sing in the morning: Praise the Lord! And again during the day in midst of our work: Praise the Lord! And in the evening: Praise the Lord!
It is our decision whereto we look: at the flood which threaten to engulf us or at Jesus, our Savior, who has helped us up to now. The poet of the psalm 104 had decided to praise God because He knew his Lord.
Yes, the Lord has placed a limit to all. When the devil wanted to challenge Hiob, God set a boundary: Thus far and no step further! And the devil had to stick to it. When the Israelites had to do slave labor and were heavily oppressed, God came in time and sent Moses. When they arrived at the Red Sea, had the waters before them and behind the Egyptian soldiers God blew away the waters – in time.
In Isaiah 43 you can read wonderful words:
Fear not, for I have redeemed you. I have summoned you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters I will be with you, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
And when the last enemy arrives and the death will take us for a ride, God will be still our Savior: He lifts us up like Enoch and Elijah, or as Stephen, who saw the glory of God and did not feel the stones which killed him.
God is our Savior in all, He has the last word! He set a boundary to all! but not to His love, mercy and power…
Thank You, Jesus, You are my Savior, You redeemed me, bought me free! The evil will not rule over me any longer, no, You are my Lord! You have only good thoughts about me. And if you entrust me with difficulties I will bear it with a "Praise Lord"
