How can man become a child of God? By faith alone. Good deeds avail in this respect nothing, because as good as it ought to be, no one (only Jesus) can be God’s son. We cannot come to God, no matter how much effort by our own power we invest, we are just too small to unable to unholy, too impure to incapable …
There have been many, many people who have tried, but get no access to God.
It is only by faith! Many believe the Bible and the sermons and everything, but they still do not have access to God, they cannot call God Papa, Father. (Abba is the word for Daddy). It lies therefore more in WHAT we believe in order to get the full access to God, heaven and heavenly blessings.
Some search for many years for access to God. As much as they want to be happy children of God, but their sin always stands in the way. They are not bad people, but they have a bad conscience. They know their sin separates them from God; – And this is rightly so.
But they have a way, God has given us because of this need, not needed for himself: Grace. They still feel that they should be holy and to make an effort. And yet everything is only and solely grace. Therefore it is said: With boldness come unto the throne of grace (Heb 4, 16). This means, no one sees more of our failures… God is happy when we can come and say childlike “Father, forgive”! And He not only forgives, He forgets even. There is no other way to the Father heart of God except the unmerited grace.
When we would finally understand, that grace is unmerited! Then sin no longer separates us from the Father. Then we can say, yes, I have sinned, but grace is greater. If we accept the grace of forgiveness, and cease to exert ourselves for it, then grace acts. Then God sends us the Spirit of His Son Jesus, and we are capable, cheerfully to say "Abba, Father". Only grace makes it all possible!!
Thank Heavenly Father that I found You! Thank You that I can come to the throne of grace, anytime, anywhere. Thank You for forgiving my sins and unholiness and forgetting; – they do not separate me any more from You. Yes, Father, I need grace and mercy and grace again and again!!
