No Fear! – 2016.07.25

Jesus said:
"And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Matthew 28:20

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” (Psalm 91)
Our God is the Lord! He is the one that decides everything! Sometimes we only notice terror and injustice, but still He is the Lord. How did it look like on Good Friday when Jesus was imprisoned, tortured, crucified, and buried? The devil seemed to be victorious but it was God that triumphed over sin, injustice, illness, death, and the devil. It was done by the Lamp of God.How does it look like today? Everywhere Christians are persecuted or labeled as fanatics. Everywhere there are stories of abuse, imprisonment, and execution for Christians. Where is God? Where is Jesus? Isn’t He the Lord?Yes, He is the Lord. Like in the story of Stephen the martyr. Jesus gave Him the victory over the stoning and took Him away. Jesus decided the time and place of death. He can perform miracles to save His people and leave them on earth or He can take them to heaven. He decides. In a not too distant future, He will come again to judge. Finally there will be justice! He will take His people to heaven where there are no more tears. Death, sin, and the unjust will be thrown into the darkness where there is no light and no hope. Why do they ridicule our Lord Jesus? We shouldn’t be fearful, but be secure in the hand of the Lord. He is the Lord and He decides everything.
Thank You Jesus, for I am a child of God! You delivered me. You will save me again and again. I am safe in Your hand. Nobody can hurt me if You don’t let it. I am secure with You even in the greatest misery. I am a Child of God!
