Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way.
Thessalonians 2, 3

Much is being written and told about the second coming of Jesus. It can be rather scary. Therefore Paul writes: We ask you, brothers and sisters, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us – whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter – asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way!
Jesus wants to take away our fear of these last days, the Judgement and His second coming. He says: I am with you always to the end of age. He will keep His protective hand over us, so that we may be saved from all distress. We are children of God! Would He punish us the same way as those that go against Him? No, surely not.
Some fear they may miss the return of Christ, perhaps because they are sleeping or busy with some “unholy” activities. Jesus wants to assure us. He will gather His children. They do not have to take care to be on time, like a train that departs whether you’re there or not. No, He dispatches His angels to gather together all Jesus’ followers and children. Do not be afraid! Your name is in the Book of Life, and Jesus will search until He has found you and taken you to Him.
It is vital for us to get our information from the Bible. There are so many books filled with speculation! We should not become unnecessarily alarmed and frightened. We need to read the Bible and believe only what is written there! He is the Lord, who takes good care of His own!

Thank You, Lord, I do not need to be afraid, because You are there holding me tight in Your strong hand. I do not know exactly how everything will proceed, and I do not know the future. But I believe in You, and that is enough.
