A holy and living sacrifice – 2017.02.18

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God.
Romans 12: 1
That should be our response to God’s mercy! We want ourselves to be a sacrifice to God as a living sacrifice.
Other people sacrifice to their gods, but the sacrifices were killed. The Inca, Maya and Aztecs brought their gods human sacrifices. Could that sacrifice really always be voluntary? In any case they were killed, they were not living sacrifice (whether these nations were destroyed because of these child sacrifices? Such a thing is an abomination to God!)
We, however, want to be a holy living sacrifice. We can acquire holiness through Jesus’ blood. He cleanses us from all sin, from the bad conscience and of all bad habits. He makes us holy for God. This is God’s mercy!
God does not want to wipe out our capabilities and our lives. He wants to use it! He is indeed not depend on us, but He does so, as if we are all important to him. He likes it when we do His work! If we spread His Word when we live out His mercy and live as Jesus did. We are His ambassadors in the world.
But we shall die yet. My old, big, fat, lazy I must lay to death. It is hypersensitive if there is criticism. It is lazy when Jesus calls in the work. It is fattened with luxury and good foods. And it is proud and bloated. Oh, our old self has nothing to do! That can not please God and He can not use it. But when the Holy Spirit creates a new heart in us, then it is acceptable before God. Since in it reigns peace, joy and compassion. As one can accept the other, the pride goes. Truely, a heart in which Jesus is the Lord!
Yes, we want to give ourselves to God as a living sacrifice. Our new life through Jesus, to belong to Him alone! Lord, take me there, for I am yours. I want to live for you, I will be your witness. Yes, Lord, I make a covenant with you again: I am yours body and soul; I will be your witness. My egoistic self I sacrifice in death, and my new self, I offer You as a living sacrifice, consecrated by the blood of Jesus.
Thank you, Jesus, you have sanctified me! You’ve made me clean, saved me from sin, destruction, darkness and death. I want to belong to you; my egoistic old self must die and the new heart that You create should beat only for you. I am yours. Amen !!
