Genesis 1, 26 

God rules, and man is like Him and should rule. Not only over the animals, the land, the sea and the plants, but just like God over the enemy, over his circumstances and above all over sin.
Chapter 4 is about Cain and Abel. God warns Cain of sin: isn’t it true that when you do right, you may lift your head high; if you do wrong, sin lurks at the door as a demon. He is after you, but you will be his master!
We are to rule over sin, not sin over us! Where the Spirit of the LORD is, there is freedom and the slavery of sin has an end.
In the temptation of Jesus, the devil showed Jesus all the kingdoms of the world and wanted to give them to Him on condition that He worships him, that is, recognizes him as God and ruler. But Jesus said, “I will not do that. I worship God who gives me everything I need”. – Jesus did not want to seize dominion, to rule at any price. (Domination is a big problem in marriages, families and the churches; – one speaks of the spirit of Jezebel).
Jesus said of this need to dominate: “Be servants! Only he who serves may reign! Be like me, humble, gentle and kind.”
Many want to achieve liberation and dominion over certain areas of life that cause them problems through miracles of God. They travel from one conference to another and ask every available evangelist for prayer. Sometimes God performs miracles and spontaneously sets people free. Often, however, He trains a person’s will and strength and slowly brings him to dominion over all his problems. This is called maturity.
He wants us to be strong, independent, serving and humble; mature, steadfast personalities who are not easily shaken. Small babies need help everywhere, mature Christians no longer.
God wants us to rule, not over people, but over our problems. That is why we should seek Him in prayer, so that He can transform us into victorious, mature people. HE is Lord and we want to rule with Him over sin, bondage, financial and sexual problems, unemployment, hopelessness, marriage problems, dark powers, sickness and weakness.

Lord, here I am! I will seek You in prayer, all day long I will keep my eyes on You! Please, change me into a strong person with a strong faith! Help me to rule over everything that is against You!
