A strong Heart – 2016.08.25

It is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace.
Hebrews 13: 9
Yesterday I read a small paper on the Samson, the warrior of God. We find his story in the book of Judges. He achieved great success for the kingdom of God, defeating many enemies. But then his eyes fell on Delilah, a beautiful woman from the enemy territory. He fell head over heels. But she drew from him the secret of his strength and robbed him of his strength. Then his enemies could overcome him, they stabbed out his eyes out (with them began his sin), bound him with chains, and put him in prison. Only after years Samson found his strength again and defeated in dying more enemies than in life. God’s blessing was on his life, and God loved him. But his heart was not right, he played with the passions. The enemy knew his weak point and was able to defeat him there and make him harmless.
There are many great people in the kingdom of God, who are defeated from the enemy by sex, power or money. This is possible if the heart is not solid. Only those who constantly lives in the grace of Jesus and not constantly lets his eyes wander. Who plays with sin, and even if only a little bit, will be brought to fall by the enemy.
God wants to entrust us a lot of strength and other gifts, but he cannot trust us with it. He knows we cannot handle it. First must our heart be fixed by grace.
When we live with Jesus and constantly seek His face and ask for his opinion, our heart is always solid. When we put him in first place and keep ourselves away from the lusts of the world, we are sure. If not occupy our thoughts with the thoughts and slogans of the world, but with Him, we get the new thinking.
The only way a man can go his way in the favor of God if he adheres to God’s Word and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Thank You Jesus! With You together I am strong. You hold me tight, so I do not come to fall. My whole striving is to please You. I will not be infected by the thoughts of the world, but Your values, beliefs and commandments live. Help me here and lead me with Your Holy Spirit!
