You have searched me, Lord,
and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
you, Lord, know it completely.
You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
Psalm 139: 1-5

These words are beautiful! The Lord makes them alive in me: He is there, surrounding me from all sides, putting his hand on me! How wonderful is this deep knowledge of how safe and secure I feel!
I make my way through life. But often I do not know where, which way is right, where the goal is. How good the knowledge is: the hand of God is on me. When I am wrong, He intervenes. When I am right, He grabs my hand and paves the way or helps me across obstacles.
As well, the Lord searches me. I sometimes do not understand myself. There are thoughts and reactions, behaviors, habits, feelings, because I do not know what that means and where they come from. But He searches me and brings it to light. He pervades me and puts many things back in order. All chambers of my body explored by him, if everything is in order. All corners of my mind searched through so that my thinking is consistent with his. In particular, he is still very cautious and do not want to form a totally new man from me in 2 hours. He has time and patience, He is gentle but purposeful. He is very kind to me!
He knows I cannot just run and work. So He gives me peace, rest and breaks. Then we can talk together and He fills me with His power. It is nice to sit together with Him in the garden and admire the beauty of nature! It’s nice to dream in the morning of how He will act!
It’s good that he knows my words in advance. So it can prevent some of what I like to say, but what is not good. He can give me kind words that build and do not judge or tear down. He can shape my heart so that it beats in unison with His.
The Lord is a wonderful God, patient, gentle, kind, forgiving, strong and loving. Where is there a God like you??
Thank You, Jesus, You show me what God is like! You are my way to God that I can walk well. Thank You, you will explore my heart and see what I mean. You give me a new heart in which You live.
