Alive! – 29.09.2014
He is not the God of the dead but of the living.
Matthew 22:32
There are so many people who are somehow dead. They work, celebrate and run, but actually they are dead. They have set up here like at home, but they have no purpose for eternity. Many Christians live just for today and tomorrow and do not think about the time after death. Here and now, that is apparently all they are thinking about. God may be in it or not, but He is not so crucial.
Jesus wants to give us a real life. A life that is more than a struggle for sixty or eighty years. HE wants to give us meaning and goals which go far beyond tomorrow and even remain after death. HE wants us really to live!
He wants real life for us. Not this Here-and-now life and ongoing waiting for holidays, weekends, etc. We should also enjoy this day and experience joy, peace, mercy! He wants to make us living man, full of life, full of vitality!
Jesus himself is the life. That is why Jesus should be fully developed in us. His goals and His thoughts are to be ours. Then our lives will unfold like a butterfly, crawling from a larva or as a chick finally hatches from the egg.
If your life as a Christian is boring, bland and joyless, then probably it is missing the life of Jesus in you. We wants you to decide today to live for Him and to be alive again! We need to forget everything what has made us comfortable and where we are safe and secure. We have goals that we want to reach for Jesus! Then our lives will come to life and exciting. Then there will again be a purpose in life and the gloom disappears.
Jesus, forgive me where I was lulled, tired, and sleepy. Wake me up again! I want to be alive for you, and have your life in abundance in me! I want to bring you what is holding me back. And I want to go walk your ways again. You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life for all eternity!
