“All in vain and for nothing!” – 2017.03.19

But I said, I have labored in vain;
I have spent my strength for nothing at all.
Yet what is due me is in the Lords hand,
and my rewards is with my God.
Isaiah 49:4
All powerful men of God and women too are facing simetimes weak moments. Great was the victory of Elijah on Mount Carmel. But short time after he collapsed and run away in fear of Jezebel
s threatening. God encouraged him again in the desert under a bush. Each of us has experienced despair and discouragement which sometimes overwhelms us. All in vain and for nothing! Your are close to give up.
However, we have a loyal God! He never leaves us alone in our misery! He comes to us and put us right again. Rather frustrated we may say: All my endeavors were in vain, I struggled for years without success, everything seems broken. But God sees my situation and will reward my efforts.
Some want to have the reward immediately by seeking the recognition of people. Others are happy when God rejoices in their doing. The first category of people have received their wage. However, those who trust in God they get the heavenly reward. Watch out when people applaud you with enthusiasm.This can even temptate the Evangelists to forget Jesus.
God sees everything! He expects that we fulfill His tasks, are true workers in His Kingdom irrespective of being together with our own children or with other people in the mission field. He values first our loyalty, the success will be then added. Everything should be done in His strength. Without His help we get tired too quickly. If we call Jesus to be at our side in fulfilling our daily duties He certainly will come and strengthens us. He will do that especially when we are excausted and totally worn-out. At the end that was to serve us best!
Yes, my reward is with God! I did not struggle in vain even though I went wrong ways sometimes. I always tried again and never gave up. Now God had opened the door wide and I can walk blessed by His hands. This is really relaxing! No fight, no stress!
Thank You, Jesus, You are at my side. You take my hand to walk with me together the way of life. When I am down and broken You will show me the right direction. Yes, I rely on you! My life has a sense and a goal. I am not living in vain!
