… and do not have love – 2020.06.28
“… and do not have love!”
1 Corinthians 13:1
Actually I wanted to write about something breathtaking today, about new revelations, miracles, about really great things. In vain, hours passed and nothing came into my mind.
But suddenly the following words lit up in me: Gods love is the greatest! Isn
t the most precious that I have a Father high up in heaven who understands my situation, who forgives me when I confess my sins, who has time for me, gives me the right advices, consoles me, admonishes me as well, who builds me up and gives me certitude? He is the only One who can change my heart, fill it with joy, peace, strengthen my faith. I always can live in His tangible presence. Isn`t that the greatest of all miracles!
Oh, how many gods are there on earth who want to claim our attention, want to capture us. But there is only one God who truly loves us and only one way to Him, through Jesus Christ. The other gods can try to tempt me as much as they want I will always choose Jesus again.
I do not want to serve a god, who pretends to can do everything but does not love me, who always asks me for sacrifices, gives me orders, expects strict obedience, and punishes every fault immediately.
No, I only want to follow Jesus who purely is love as described in this song. About Him I only want to talk, to write. His unlimited love I want to praise and to live within same!
“If I speak in tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.” (1. Cor. 13,1f.)
Oh, Jesus! How lovely it is to have a hiding place in You! How soothing it is when I can talk to You in silent moments and feel You are there. That is like water in a desert. You are the source of the highest love!
