For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.
Ephesians 5,8

We all know the before and after photos in the media. So it is with us as Christians, there is a before, and an after. Sometimes we forget, so God reminds us. And should you still live in the before, God wants to take you out and place you in the Kingdom of His beloved Son. Become light, and live in the light of mercy!
The Bible describes the before as follows:
As for you, you were all dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even though we were dead in transgressions- it is by grace you have been saved. (Ephesians 2,1-5)
And the after is described as follows:
Live as children of light (For the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them… Everything exposed by the light becomes visible – and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. This is why it is said: Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you. Be very careful, then, how you live – not as unwise, but as wise, making the most of every opportunity… Be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 5,9-20)
Thus we want to thank Jesus with all our heats, for taking us out of the darkness and the power of sin. We want to follow Him, our King and Lord, with all our hearts. We want to become light, as He is light! And His light shall shine through us…
Thank you, Jesus, You have given me life and taken me out of the darkness and hopelessness! You have given me Your light and allowed it to shine through me! How good it is to belong to Your Kingdom of Light!!
