Bride and groom – 2015.07.23
As a young man marries a virgin,
so shall your creator marry you.
As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride,
so shall your God rejoice over you.
Isaiah 62, 5
The Bible compares the relationship between God and the people of Israel, the church of Christ and the individual believer often with the relationship between bride and groom. Jesus is the bridegroom and we are the bride, HE loves her dearly.
The courtship and marriage are therefore regarded as holy by God, because it is an image of the communion between God and man.
It’s amazing how much God loves people! He sees people very different, as how they see themselves. He sees them cleared of all guilt, impurity and corruption. He sees they are healed without physical suffering, without aging. He sees him without spot or wrinkle or any other error, holy and immaculate. The look of love makes this possible. And because Jesus has purchased it by his sacrifice for the people themselves.
What a position we have through faith in Jesus before the throne of God! Can the groom refuse a request of the bride? Will he not tell her in confidence everything that he is planning and thinking? Will he not shower her with gifts? Does he not keep and protect? She is very, very much worth it, really the most valuable ever.
The groom is consumed in longing for his bride. One wants to have as much time together and is looking forward to each other. Each separation causes pain. All thoughts revolve only around the dearest. Always planning to make a nice surprise or a small gift. The ardent love of a man makes him do the almost impossible. And the bride goes with longing when he is not there. Yes, a hot love between Jesus and the bride!
Soon the bridegroom will come and pick up the bride. We are waiting for the feast! Then our desire comes true, then we are completely connected to the groom, in ardent love, intimacy and joy. Then has passed every pain, every sickness, every sorrow. Yes, Jesus, come soon !!
Thank you, Jesus, that You have chosen me! You shape me, making me pure and holy! I did not deserve this, it is only your love. I enjoy your love, your presence and your touch. And I wait for you to come and we will be together.
