Communion with Jesus – 2021.01.19
Jesus prays:
Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, ….
John 17, 24
Jesus prays for His disciples and for all who believe in Him and cling to Him. Shortly afterwards, He already knows, He will die on the cross. He is already longing for His disciples, for His beloved bride, His church and congregation, God’s beloved children, His brothers and sisters. It is a hot, tearful love with which Jesus loves us. This love is completely for the good of the other, a love that no longer thinks of itself. Read 1 Corinthians 13, where Jesus’ love for us is described.
What God gives Him is sure. He never lets go of someone God has entrusted to Him. Even people who had forgotten God for years come back to Jesus through difficult circumstances. He makes sure that no one really perishes and that the devil cannot triumph.
We should have a good life. That is why we should be where Jesus is. Very close to His throne, very close to Him. John lay with his head on Jesus’ shoulder at the Last Supper, he was the disciple whom the Lord loved. That is how close our connection to Him should be, a love relationship, not a dogmatic teaching system, not pious rituals. Jesus does not like that. We are to see His glory and share in it. There is light, warmth, love, joy, healing. It is glorious there. There we are at home. There we are loved, accepted and valued. There we forget what once was. He is already longing for His disciples, for His beloved bride, His church and congregation, God’s beloved children, His brothers and sisters. It is a hot, tearful love with which Jesus loves us. This love is completely for the good of the other and no longer thinks of itself. Read 1 Corinthians 13, where Jesus’ love for us is described.
Jesus has a great longing for his own. Nevertheless, we do not want to leave for heaven right away, but do our work here with Him. He also wants to call others, so that they too can be with Him one day. Let us be infected by Jesus’ love for the lost; – just as He loved us and sacrificed Himself for us, so let us love others.
He is wonderful, He is my Lord. I love Him above all and look forward to Him. Here I can experience Him in prayer, feel His closeness, feel His gentle hand, notice His love and mercy …. It is really wonderful with Him.
Thank You Jesus, one day we will be with You! But already here we can live very closely with You. Thank You, our prayers are not empty phrases, but conversation and being together with You. Thank You!
