Your life in Christ makes you strong, and his love comforts you. You have fellowship with the Spirit, and you have kindness and compassion for one another. I urge you, then, to make me completely happy by having the same thoughts, sharing the same love, and being one in soul and mind. Don’t do anything from selfish ambition or from a cheap desire to boast, but be humble toward one another, always considering others better than yourselves. And look out for one another’s interests, not just for your own. The attitude you should have is the one that Christ Jesus had.
Philippians 2:1-5
In this text it’s described how a assembly of Christians should be. It should be like a taste of heaven! When Christians gather there is a party in Heaven and the devil gets frightened.
When someone else isn’t acting heavenly we notice it immediately. Too loud, too cheeky, too bossy, too small minded, or simply too smelly. But when we don’t act heavenly it has a good reason. We aren’t perfect, because … well, we all know our excuses on why we can’t be held to the standard of the bible. But still: Jesus wants us to act heavenly in our communities. But how? We are only humans!
It can be done when Jesus lives in our heart. When we listen to Him and overcome our instincts, and stop listening to our large, fat, and lazy ego and put Jesus first. His spirit should lead us, not our old ego! And than we will become a blessing for our community. And we get Gods blessing, joy, and confidence in our heart and His peace fills our heart. My old Ego needed to fight, but I am new in Jesus and now I can enjoy!
Oh Lord, make me similar to You! I want to overcome my old, large, fat, and lazy Ego to carry Your life in me. Your kindness, compassion, and love should rule me! I want You as the Lord over my heart, because You bring joy, peace, and kindness and it isn’t hard anymore to humbly serve others. Lord, fill my completely!
