Conflict – 2015.04.04

„Today I have made you a fortified city, an iron pillar and a bronze wall …They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 1; 18
If we follow Jesus from our heart, conflict will come often with the family, neighbours, colleagues and community. They cannot understand us and find false motives in us and fight us with words and deeds. Such situations are difficult, because we are attacked by those who we love and care for.
But our God says very clearly; I am with you, to rescue you. We are secure in the shadow of His wings. ER holds his strong hand between us and our attackers.
If we are like the pharisees, who hold to the laws of God against others, then judgement will come upon us. And if we are lukewarm, compromising christians, living not clearly then attack serves us right. Then is the voice of the attacker a call for change from the halfheartedness and back to Jesus.
Jesus warned us, that the world would hate us if we lived for Him. But He has given us His protection.
We are called for peace. Just like Abraham in his conflict with his nephew Lot. He took a great disadvantage in the bargain, in order to receive peace. He trusted God and His promises and God did not disappoint him.
God wants to meet with us in the quietness and always to give us new strength. A conflict is bad, but when we experience the closeness and Gods comfort, it is more than compensation. He loves His fighters, who fight with His weapons. He makes our hearts strong like a wall against the attacks of the enemies. Even if they harm us, it is the Lord, who will hold us tightly. I stand, because He is holding me. When I am proud, arrogant and self-reliant, I can fall. But not through the angry, unjust and dishonest attacks of people.
Thank you Jesus, You are my protection and security! With you I always find comfort and hope. With you help I can forgive and not become bitter. Give me your wisdom in conflict, in order that it can be solved in your way. Send peace! Thank you that you hold me and always give me comfort and new courage. You are a wonderful Lord.
