A voice of one calling in the wilderness,
Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.
Luke 3:4
Johns birth was one of Gods mystery. When he was grown up he lived in the desert for a long time where he received the Word of God. After that, he went to the Jordan and preached about repentance and baptism. Everyone came to listen to him but he snapped at them:" You brood of vipers! How told you, you would be spared judgment? Don’t rely on your birthright or your church or anything else!" The people were hurt by those words of God and they asked, "What are we suppose to do?", and John answered," Be compassionate and share, don’t cheat one another, don’t mistreat or extort anyone, be satisfied with your wages and don’t be greedy for more!" John preach was so powerful the people started to think he was the Messiah. But John told them there would be someone that would be even more powerful! Someone that didn’t baptize with water, but with the Holy Spirit. Someone, John wasn’t worthy to tie His shoes.
For God the desert is an important place to train people for His serves. Time in the desert is hard but it is worth it!
The word of God will come true. It is power and not just words. One word can change someone. Truly, we need the powerful word of God!
John didn’t need to please anyone. With his words he destroyed dreams and securities of people. The church alone doesn’t save anyone! Rites and rituals won’t either! Jesus is the only way.
We need Jesus because He baptizes with fire and the Holy Spirit. This is important to us, in Gods opinion. But some people think they know better, and have order without fire and without the Holy Spirit (Some time ago I nearly fell asleep during such a sermon…).
God wants us to prepare the way for Jesus. We should clear away anything that could slow Him down, such as sin, pride, and small faith. We need to straighten our paths and remove all our lies and intrigues. We need to open a way to our hearts and churches for Him. The Gods fire burns all earthly, human, and sinful, but the Holy Spirit gives us all the godly: happiness, authority, life, peace, compassion, faith, …

Dear Lord Jesus, You are so powerful and strong! You change me and the world around me; Compassion, hope, peace, and love comes from You. I want to have You in my heart! I want to clear a path for You to my people! Please, come soon!!
