Should not a people consult their God?
Isaiah 8:19How often have I made the wrong decisions. Because I have listened to others or followed my desires and moods or because I did not know better. I think about some cars that I should not have bought.
As people we want to have security if we make important decisions. It is good when we ask experts and make our own opinion. And despite this we only know afterwards if the decision was right or not. It was like this at the time of Isaiah, the people asked mediums and spiritualists. God is very against this. God thinks we should ask Him.
His name is: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9;6) Jesus calls the Holy Ghost, who lives in us, helper, counsellor, reminder, spirit of truth.
If we have to make decisions, we want to ask God for wisdom and guidance and take time to listen to him. The decision must line up with the word of God and the peace in your heart must stay the sign of His presence. We can ask other people their opinion, but we should not be pressurized or have decisions taken out of our hands. We should learn to say no if people try to force us. It keeps us form too much stress.
God wants to advise us, He is our father, He loves us and knows all about us. And despite this I made my own wrong decisions. When I ask God why, He answered: So that I would connect more with Him. Because of this uncertainty in me I turn to Him stronger and ask in more urgency. He also says, that the wrong decisions are not so bad, because He remains the Lord. He makes every adversity good. So despite this I can have peace in my uncertainty of the way, because He is there, keeps me, advises me and leads me. He is my Lord and takes responsibility for me. Yes, I will trust Him and listen to Him.
Thank you father, that I can come to you with all my questions. You always listen to me. You are my Lord and I trust you. You give the right advice and guidance. How good it is that I can ask you.
