Praise to David’s Son! God bless him who comes in the name of the Lord! Praise be to God!
Matthew 21, 9
When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was thrown into an uproar. Now he comes, the Messiah! He finally will rebuild the kingdom! Now the justice comes, the peace, God’s kingdom is going to be built up again! The people were happy about Jesus and the kids shouted with joy. Many were healed by Jesus. It just seemed incomprehensible to the dignitaries. Such a mess, such a noise and tumult! He can’t be the Messiah, we imagined Him very different. If Jesus would come today, there were many who would be incredibly happy. But some will say: No, we don’t need someone. And what will Jesus say to them? Maybe the same? When Jesus came, the people were happy. They said: Blessed who comes in the name of the Lord. – When we come, the people are happy because we bring the blessing of God. Jesus wants to bless us trough others. We should continue His works of mercy. We are supposed to be God’s light in a dark world. He wants to use us mightily! Yes, you shall be God’s blessing here on earth!
Thank you, Jesus, that You came to me. I will open my heart’s door to you. You want to fill me with Your strength, joy, hope and mercy and make me a blessing to others. You have a lot of trust in me, and with You by my side I am able to move mountains!
Hosanna originally means: Bring help! But the word has lost its real meaning and has become a formula that expresses joy.
