Devotions – 2014.09.20

Although he was in the form of God and equal with God,
he did not take advantage of this equality.
Instead, he emptied himself by taking on the form of a servant,
by becoming like other humans,
by having a human appearance.
He humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death,
death on a cross.
This is why God has given him an exceptional honor—
the name honored above all other names—
so that at the name of Jesus everyone in heaven, on earth,
and in the world below will kneel
and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord
to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2, 6-11
Jesus is the Lord of lords, King of kings ! No one else can make prevent Him from being that, although some rulers behave as if they were God.
In heaven, Jesus rules without restrictions and all acclaim Him. He sits on the throne and everyone bows his knee before the most powerful rulers. There, everyone will know who calls the shots. He deserves it, because He is one with God the Father. Everything that the Father wants, Jesus wants too. And so the Father can entrust Him everything. Even the redemption of mankind Jesus has accomplished. He left behind His divinity, power and authority in heaven and became a "normal" man with all the limitations that we have. But He was in close contact with the Father and so He was able to act and pray as His father wanted it. He completely trusted Him and so He was ready to walk the hard road to the cross. He knew the Father will release Him from death. He was the true, the only valid sacrifice for our sins. And all who cling to His name, He redeemed from the power of darkness and brought them into the divine light. All, who still bend their knees before Jesus, will be united in heaven and will acclaim Him, Him, the most powerful Savior and Redeemer! And we wait for Jesus to come back and build His kingdom here on earth. He will reign wonderful!

Jesus, I cling to You! For Thou art more powerful than all circumstances. You defeat any illness and even death. In all situations You are the Lord! Yes, You are my king, whom I can cheer, You are my Savior, who heals me and You are my friend, who stands by me!
