"Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didnt you know I had to be in my Father
s house?"
Luke 2:49 Jesus was 12 years of age only when He gave above reply to His parents who had gone with Him to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover. After the feast they all returned home. The parents thought Jesus was in company with the pilgrims and were not worried in the beginning not to see Him. But then they began looking for Him. When they did not find Him among the relatives and friends they went back to Jerusalem and found Him there after 3 days in the temple court sitting among teachers discussing with them significant questions. Everyone was amazed at His understanding. When His parents were complaining about His absence He replied that His place was in the Father’s House.
Although Josef had been His father, Jesus knew, that the Lord was His Father and Creator. He was very certain about that. He loved His Father with all His heart and only wanted to follow His will.
And what about us? Are we in the Father`s House? Are we walking in His Will? Or are we living in own strength according to our wishes? Are we near His heart the whole day through covered by His love? Or are we only briefly turning to Him from time to time being mostly engaged with worldly matters. Please do not compromise! Stay in Him always!
Thank you, Jesus, You and the Father, you are one! If I see You, I see the Father full of grace and mercy. Thank you, You enable me to be in constant communion with the Father and talk to Him always. He is with me and loves me. Yes, I will not look for another place than in Him. In Him all my dreams and wishes are fulfilled.
