“Why are you so frightened?” Jesus answered. “What little faith you have!” Then he got up and ordered the winds and the waves to stop, and there was a great calm.
Matthew 8, 26

No matter how the storm in our life is named: Jesus still is the Lord! He stops the storm, when He considers it right. He still holds His strong hand above us and carries us through any storm, even when the little ship threatens to capsize. He is the Lord! We just should not let us infect by the fear of others, but further look on Jesus, the Lord of life and death. For He alone determines whether we live or die, and not a disease or an accident or something else. No, He is the Lord, He has the final say!
Jesus wants complete silence. If we are where He is, it is perfectly quiet and still. His presence is so powerful that any storm, any disturbing noise falls silent. With Him we no longer need to talk and talk and talk, but can rest on His heart. But can we stand it at all?
A man of silence is a man of power. Through him, God can work mightily. Therefore Moses and John the Baptist were long in solitude. In the silence, God speaks and shapes us. In the silence we get to know God; – He reveals Himself to us. Let us learn to be quiet!

Thank you, Jesus, You are a God who speaks! Help me to be quiet and to give You a chance to speak. Then the fear passes and the storm does not matter to me. You carry me through everywhere! Yes, You are the mighty Lord I can trust!
