I myself will tend my sheep and have them lie down, declares the Sovereign Lord. I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice.
Ezekiel 34, 15-16
We want our problems to be solved and search for help everywhere but just the Lord has the best, most fundamental help. HE knows all the coherencies, sees the future and the past, nothing is hidden from him. We can tell about our problems to everybody and ask for wise advice but the first address must be the Lord. And when HE takes our problem as He promised we have no need to sorrow and complain.
It can be that HE will send us to specialists. Or we should search for help from our brothers and sisters sometimes (together we are strong!). By all means HE is our helper and good shepherd. HE cares for us!
HE heals injured hearts. When I do what HE advices me, HE heals my heart from all the wounds which were caused by others or myself.
HE brings me back from aberrations when I lose the way and cry out to Him. Then HE says: Go there and do this, don`t go this way – it is the way to enmeshment! I must listen to Him, even when my pride is against it.
Yes, HE wants to care for us His way. Not always like I want it but always very very good!
HE wants to tend us and have us lie down in peace: this is His word. When I look at His word and speak with Him, there comes rest from stress, from aberrations, from the “illness” of sin, from injuries, just from all things.
Yes, I want belong to His flock! Even if I am then just a sheep, it is good to be there! Because HE is the Good Shepherd. I want to listen to Him and when HE goes I want to follow. I will bury my pride and self-will and admit HIM as the Lord. HE wants just good for me!
Thank you, Father in heaven, you are good Shepherd! You takes a stick just for my protection or for directing me the right direction, not for beating me. You yourself go before me and I want to follow just You. You cares for me and lead me into lush pasture where I can lie down and rest. You are so good to me! You are going before me today as well and You show me the way through the day. Whom shall I fear? You are here!
