Don’t fear, God is here! – 2016.12.05

“I, even I, am he who comforts you. Who are you that you fear mere mortals, human beings who are but grass, that you forget the Lord your Maker, who stretches out the heavens and who lays the foundations of the earth,…”
Isaiah 51:12-13
Only God is powerful! He made the heavens, He gave a limit to the sea, and He maintains the cosmos and the earth. He is the one who raises the leaders of the world, and He is the one who lets them tumble. How many rich people have there been, and where are they now? God judges those, that become arrogant.
God keeps an eye out for His flock so no one can frighten them without consequences. Dreadful is the Gods vengeance. He is the protector and king of His small flock, who will take care of them.
He is so close to His flock that He can comfort them. Truly, the almighty God is right between those weak and small beings! So He can ask:” Why are you afraid? Don’t you trust your God? Do you think, I forgot you or lost my strength? Look what I have done and you should know that I can easily help you. Remember when we where close and I did great things for you! Don’t be afraid! Don’t fear the people who seem great today but are gone tomorrow. I am the one who remains and I am the one that gives you security, peace, and joy!”
It’s our job to be close the the Lord. And it’s His job to take care of us. He will do what He promised to do. And what do we do?
Our attention needs to be turned to Him and all our trust needs to be in Him. We want to be close to Him and clean our hands and feet. We want to sing songs of praise for Him, even if the evil still surrounds us. He is where His people praise His name!
Praise is our weapon against all enemies. God lives in the praise of His people. Praise weakens the enemy and God is able to do His job.
Yes, let us seek His presence, praise His name instead of being afraid.
Thank You Father in the heavens, for You take care of me! I am safe with You and fear and sorrows grow small. You are my helper and saviour, what should frighten me?
