Gifts of grace – 2018.03.10

For by the grace given to me….
Romans 12, 3a
…I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.
Romans 12, 3-8
As I was thinking of a title for this weeks text and having read the above verses three times, I was drawn to the very beginning:
For by the grace given to me….
Yes, everything is down to grace even the charismatic things. We receive all our talents and gifts through His grace so we shouldn’t be too proud of them. The small people usually receive the greatest gifts and so the others get jealous. But it is God who makes these decisions; – do we really wish to revolt against him and tell him what is right or wrong?
Him, the leader, prophet, an evangelist, an apostle whom all others have to serve. We will only become good leaders once we‘ve cleaned toilets – it’s a question of humility! I don’ t like leaders  or evangelists who wish to be the centre of attention, brag about their talents and think they know everything. For in god’s kingdom there will be no differentiation between the big and the small, we shall all serve one another – that’s what we were given our gifts for. God gave us a variety of gifts that would benefit others. Their purpose is not our self-interest but to benefit others. HE gave us a great variety of gifts, and there are hundreds of personal variations of them. HE is such a creative God! There is no one like you! Therefore utilise, improve and test your gifts. This is God’ s school and his pupils are allowed to make mistakes. Be courageous! Do not give up at the first sign of failure. Each of us has their very own talent, and so do you. Find out what’s your talent with God’s help and you will experience a miracle.
Lord, You are so exciting! Thank You for your mercy that stands above all. You don’t leave us alone but give us Your spirit to help us anywhere and anytime. Thank You!!
