God is for me – 2016.10.01

No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame,

but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause.
Psalm 25.3

David knew God very well. He knew God will not let anyone down who trusts in Him. David had experienced much with God and always God saved him from all dangers and distress. Only when he went his own path by himself, he could expect no blessing. Then the difficulties were inevitable. And if he was proud of his achievements, then he came to fall. Therefore David knew: Only this close connection with God will bring him blessing and keep him from falling!
When David walked with God, he could count on his support. With him together he was strong and brave. "With your help I can advance against a troop ; with my God I can scale a wall!" – He says in Psalm 18.29
David knew all people make mistakes – and he was also only human. But he also knew that God will not abandon him and say: Blame yourself! He built firmly on God’s help, even though he perhaps took a wrong turn. Some people are so afraid of making mistakes and failures that they do nothing at all. But God wants to give us courage, sometimes risking everything with Him. He catches us yet again, HE never allows us be put to shame!
It may be that we walk on the "wrong" ways and chose something and will not succeed. God corrects us patiently and lovingly and brings us back to the right path. We should not underestimate God’s care in these things! He is the Father who watches over His children. In verse 15 it says: "… for He freed my feet from the snare."
We want to keep our God. He keeps us loyal and is for us. He never allows us to be put to shame. So we want to keep it with our faith: We do not want to deny Him, but openly and clearly represent our position. The world needs to know: I belong to Jesus and God is my heavenly Father. I do not want to break faith. Perhaps others may be laughing about my faith, but I know better: God will let me never be ashamed with my faith!
Thank you, Jesus, you do think about me! I do not do everything right, but you have a banner of love over my life! Thank you, that You give me security and courage to move forward. You’re there and never let me be put to shame!
