And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment.
1. John 4,16f

God is not a principle of nature, no impersonal energy or spiritual power. HE is a living person. Some claim nature to be their god, but nature is impersonal. Nature works according to its laws and knows no mercy. The individual is totally irrelevant and unknown. God is a person; only a person can love.
God is first and foremost love, and then more love. Third, He IS love, and fourth, again love.
Love knows an opposite, who is loved. For God that is man. Not only humankind, but every single human being. For God that is not an excessive demand, rather, as Creator of all stars, known to Him by name, it is easy. He proved His love when He created earth and gave life to every single living being, and every single human being (including you and me). He is a personal Creator who creates everyone the way He wants: as subject of His love, and as mirror image of His love.
And He showed His love when He removed all obstacles in the river of love between God and man: Jesus died on the cross for my sins. Now I am righteous before God, justified through Jesus.
If we believe, then there is no barrier, no wall and no obstacle left between God and us!
That is why it says: and so we know and rely on the love God has for us. A sign of this is that we are able to stand before God without even the slightest fear. In reality we are always aware of our guilt and imperfection, and that keeps us from coming before God free and unencumbered. But if the love takes away our debt, and we accept that, then this feeling of guilt disappears. We are truly cleansed, holy and righteous before God!
Yes, we want to become better at recognizing God’s love, we want to faithfully accept His love without fear of punishment. How great, easy and full of joy our lives will be then! The way little children go to their dad, so we go to our Heavenly Father, full of trust in Him. We can bring everything to Him, talk to Him and cry at His feet, ask for help, or perhaps just enjoy a moment of comfort. How wonderful that He is love! How wonderful that He lives within me! How wonderful that nothing can separate me from Him!
Thank You for Your love that knows no boundaries! You are my wonderful God, whom I love with all my heart! I love finding comfort in You. I love being with You. I love speaking to You in prayer. Thank You for removing the obstacles! I am truly accepted and loved by You!
