God is love! – 2016.12.04

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
1 John 4:16
Sometimes it is very difficult for us to understand that God is love. We know He is the Almighty, the Omniscient, the Holy, the Eternal, the Judge, the Creator – but the Loving? This is often a problem for us. The main reason for that is that there exists a great distance between us and Him. It is as if the king of Thailand whom we do not know personally is writing that he loves and appreciates us. It would astonish us but not touch us deeply. He is too far away. He may love us but it has no impact on us. It seems that for many God is so far away. You may call Him Lord, or address Him with dear Lord, or look upon Him as a great Pusher of clouds – all great things! But does He care for my small matters? Our view of God could be very undetermined, conflicting, somehow cracked, not logical. We cannot understand that this almighty God of the Bible is such a personally loving God. That is our problem!
Therefore the above Bible message starts with the words: And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. We must differentiate whether God loves the earth and men in general or whether He loves us personally as the Bible says.
The love of God is poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit (Roman 5:5). I meditate about this half of this day. And when this truth was revealed to me great joy came over me. His love fills me, I can “bath” in it. It is His Yes to me, His unconditional, unlimited love which makes me a “new man” who can forget all his failures and unfaithfullness. What a great hope! I am accepted!  This love is stronger and all-embracing as the love of a mother and father, of children and also of the sweetheart. When God`s overflowing love came over me my eyes became moist. It was too much, too deep and beautiful! Thank You, Lord!
Thank You, Father, that You have poured out Your love into my heart. How wonderful!  In this love, in Your love I will live and never will leave it, this redeeming path. Indeed, You are my Father who endlessly loves me!
