God’s Children – 2015.03.23

Because you are sons and daughters, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!” Therefore, you are no longer a slave but a son or daughter.
Galatians 4:6f
Even from childhood I called my father "Daddy" or "Papa". Other children said uncle to Him. Even when I was bigger and even as an adult he was my dad or daddy. Others respectfully and courteously called him "Mr. Lauer man", but I and my siblings did not.
That is the difference between a child of their own and a stranger. With God it is similar. Abba means something like Daddy. He likes it when His children have such a relationship with Him, that they say "Daddy" to Him. We quickly notice how the relationship of others is with God, when we pay attention to how they address Him and how they talk to Him. I don’t like to belittle God for a "buddy". But I like it very much when we have a good, warm, relaxed relationship with Him. He is our Father and we are His children!
God is our Father and He longs for fellowship with His children. He likes it when we tell Him everything. Anything that makes us depressed and worries us, what makes us afraid, but also all the best, love and what’s fun and joy. He likes to be with His children! He especially likes it when His children are together without controversy and praise and worship Him together. Then He is palpable and powerful in their midst.
We cannot reach this certainty, that God is our "Daddy", by ourselves. The Holy Spirit brings this knowledge to us. But our heart must be pure and clean, purified by the blood of Jesus of forgiveness. And purified of bitterness and reproach. Then the Spirit can work in us.
We must say yes to it and wish it from our heart that we are God’s children. Then God makes His Word come true and we become His children.
Thank you, Father, You are my father and I am Your child! Thank you, Jesus, You have washed me clean from all sin and all failure. Thank you, Holy Spirit, You look at me and give me the assurance that I am a child of God. Yes, I want to belong to God’s family. I want that Jesus is my King!
