God´s Love – 2016.08.06

Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity a
nd passes over the rebellious act of the remnant of His possession? He does not retain His anger forever, b
ecause He delights in unchanging love..
Micha 7, 18

Yes, we have read correctly: God loves to be gracious and bless! He has loved us with all his heart.
But we do not do that so readily, because everything closes in us. We could understand if he is angry with us and punishes, because we are not particularly sacred. We can understand if God offends us because we are not always faithful to him.
But that He loves us so boundless that will not fit into our heads and not our hearts.
Young children know that parents have fondness. No ifs and buts. And if I threaten my youngest something he says confidently: No, you will not do! – And he’s right. For that I have to love him dearly. I can probably impose small fines, but I cannot violate, banish, not love and forever be angry. Does someone think, God could this to us?
This security is reflected in the life of my little ones again. He does not use it, but he is packed with security and certainty. Yes, he feels sure he has his place that nobody disputes. He does not attract attention by any nonsense.
What God wants from us as a basic trust to Him, the Creator and Father. It makes him sad when we expect only wrath and judgment of him. He loves to surprise us with good things, and is surprised when we ask ourselves how we have "earned" that.
If we have found that trust in the active love of God, our relationship is right with Him. We can all trust and confide in Him then: He is the loving Father who cares for his child. He excused the mistakes and the failures and hopes for the future. He has infinite patience with the children who love Him from the heart. Even if they fail, He consoles; – Because He is also not disappointed (He knew it before and yet said yes to us). He is a wonderful, loving, gentle, patient, forgiving, hopeful father!
This confidence in dealing with our heavenly Father grows through fellowship with other children of God, by reading the Bible, through the silent prayer, through communion with Jesus and by the power of the Spirit in our hearts.
Thank you, Jesus, you have shown us the Father: Full of love, patience and mercy! Yes, in this God we want to believe and live in security! Suppose it: We are God’s beloved children. We will not listen to the Prosecutor and Condemner because Your Word says: God loves to be merciful.
