Hail – 2015.09.05

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
and resting in the shadow of the Almighty,
says the Lord: "You are for me refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust. "
Psalm 91, 1f
A few days ago a storm was with us. The hailstones were very large, more than 2 cm. They punched through the leaves of sunflowers, pumpkins and fruit trees. Afterwards the large leaves were riddled and full of holes. Only in the greenhouse, was everything fine. Because the plants were under the roof.
Hail was one of the ten plagues of Egypt. It smashed everything that was on the field, only in the land of Goshen, where the people of Israel were, there was no hail. God drew a border. He made a distinction between his people and those who do not fear Him. We can trust him to do the same this even today.
When I’m in the shelter of the Most High, I am not affect. Only what he plans happens. If I go out and leave the divine protection, then anything can happen. At first, often the sun is shining, and no danger shows. Only once we are far away from the Lord, the enemy shows his true face: He’s a liar, thief and murderer; he wants only evil for us.
Sitting under the umbrella and resting in the shade indicates a permanent condition. Although we do not constantly lazily sit around, we still rest in His hands. The close connection with the Lord stays the whole day.
He is the highest. No one can rob him or harm him. Under the umbrella of the Supreme I sit; because even though the enemy still rages, he cannot reach me. How good to be under his protection and shield!
He is my God, in whom I trust. He saves me from the snare of the hunter and from all corruption. He shields me with his wings. Under his wings I find refuge, shield and protection are his faithfulness. I do not need to be afraid for the terror by night nor for the arrow that flies in the day or of the plague that stalks in darkness, nor the plague that rages at noon (Psalm 91).|

Thank You, Lord, You are my fixed shade and safe haven! With you I am safe, even if the storm rages outside. I am in your hands!
Unfortunately a flash of lightening hit our Internet service provider, so that we have been without an Internet connection. I hope that the repair is finished soon and the morning devotion will go out again on time.
