His Grace – 2015.04.02

My lord, if now I have found favor in your sight, please do not pass your servant by.
Genesis 18, 3
The Lord himself cam with two strong angels to Abraham.
He recieved Him and asked Him to stay so that he could enjoy the hospitality. This is the reason why Abraham said this sentence:if now I have found favor in your sight, please do not pass your servant by.
Abraham had found favour with the Lord.
And how is it with us, with you and me? If I know that God is on my side, then I am happy and joyful. Then nothing burdens me, I will even sing. There are no difficulties, that together we cannot overcome and no worries will make me alarmed. Then I am really free, unburdened and happy.
But sometimes a shadow comes between Gods favour and me: I think about my failings and I am ashamed. And I think, that God thinks that way and does not look upon me in favour.
His word says something different: When you acknowledge your sin, then he forgives you. Only: I cannot always believe it and so I sit under the pressure of my sin and am ashamed about myself. Then is it time, to remember his word and say aloud: He has forgiven me. He has forgotten my sin. Today is a new day of grace. Yes, the Lord is there again.
He does not go past me. If I have found his favour, he stays the whole day with me, and is also tomorrow there, and the next day until all eternity. He is with us people because He likes us so much. He is pleased with our songs when we are happy. Yes, we have found his favour and he does not pass us by, but he is with us.
Thank you father in heaven, that you see me with grace in your eyes. Also if I am not particularly perfect, despite this your love me, forgive me my sins and failures and you are with me. You take my burdens and worries; – with you can I be happy.
