His name is holy! The name of the Lord is like a program, it describes the attributes of God. He’s Lord of Lords, King of Kings, Lord of hosts, doctor, provider, I’m-here and many other names.
If we proclaim His name, we proclaim His power and His government over countries, peoples, cities and humans. We put ourselves in contrast to the enemy who has seized the dominion itself and is called liar, cheater and murderer.
When we pray in His name, we use His authority for our request. If we command the evil in the name of Jesus, we do no longer act, but God; – We only speak of what Jesus thinks and wants.
Jesus’ name is Savior, Redeemer, Savior, friend, helper. Even in the Old Testament His name is: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace; the government will be upon His shoulder (Isaiah 9: 5). In the name of Jesus there are signs and wonders, God intervenes! The lame could walk again, when Peter said the name of Jesus (Acts. 3.6). The Holy Name of Jesus works till this day, it has not stopped!
His name is holy, and it is put upon us, if we belong to Christ. As an invisible shield it is on our mind: He belongs to Jesus Christ. All invisible powers see it. We may not dishonor the name, while we think, say or do degrading things. No, if the name of Jesus is with us, we should be holy! We are also not supposed to constantly abuse His name, saying at all possible and impossible occasions: O God! O my god! O Jesus Maria! This thoughtless talk brings dishonor to the name of Jesus. I sometimes think such people could not be guided by the Holy Spirit, because then he would make them aware of it. Actually, I do not know any people who are closely connected with Christ, and constantly abuse His name. It is certainly not a sign of holiness.
If the name of Jesus lays on us, we are under His rule and under His special protection. He defends His name and will not permit that the enemy wins.
The name of Jesus gives us power to pray. God hears the prayers spoken in the name of Jesus! Therefore, let us pray so that His Kingdom comes and His dominion gets bigger and bigger here! His will is done here on earth as it’s done in heaven. Then, finally, peace will be!
Thank you, Jesus, You are the Holy, Righteous, Savior and Ruler! You are the strongest, there is none like You. And You lay Your holy name on me; – I am a child of God. You sanctify me and make me pure, as I ought to be as a child of God. You are with me, protecting me, giving me Your peace and quiet, filling me with joy and giving me power over the enemy. How well that You are my king!
