His Presence – 2019.08.21

Father, I want those You have given me
to be with me where I am,
and to see My glory…
John 17:24

The whole day through I am meditating about above verse. I can not get it our of my head. It must be most important for Jesus. Was does He express with these words? It must be His love, His longing for us! He wants us to be children of God.
But do we take that, do we spend time for Him? We spend the whole day working. Thereafter we care about our family, or meet our friends in a club, or are somehow activ in the church. We are tired at the end of the day and get up sleepy in the morning.
This morning, however, God clearly spoke to me: Yesterday, the ancients still had their quiet time, studied the Bible, have maintained community, prayed, fasted, seeked Gods presence. Today we live in stress, have no time for nothing. It is the devil who steel our time and destroy, does everything to keep us away from Jesus, to have time for our family.
Imagine  you get up in the morning 15 minutes earlier, sit on the edge of the bed, thank for the day, put all the things of this day in the hands of the Lord, read a psalm when drinking your coffee. Imagine you bless your children before departing and talk to the Lord about all your coming affairs during your drive to your workplace. During lunch break you reserve for Him several silent minutes, talk to Him again on the way back about the events of the day. Imagine you read the Bible in the evening and clarify with Him all that are on your mind: Your children, your spouse, your neighbor, your collegues, simply everything. Before falling asleep you thank and praise Him. Before important decisions you fast until you have clarity, know the will of God. You promote the church life so that the children find a spiritual home there.
Imagine all that, then you will realize that suddenly Jesus permeates you in all areas of your life. When you wake up at night you hear yourself sing, praise God in tongues. He likes when you are reflecting His love, when people meet Him in you whereever you are. How wonderful, isn
t?
Yes, Jesus wants to be with us tangibly close. For this the hectic of the every day life has to be overcome. A clear decision has to be made. Then the reward will be great. His presence!

Thank You, Jesus, with You I can live well. Even if it gets difficult You are there. Your peace is protecting me, your love covers all. You fill me with joy and I realize: You are there, Lord, I am happy in Your presence!
