Injustice – 2016.07.16

He committed no sin,
and no deceit was found in His mouth.
When they hurled their insults at Him, He did not retaliate;
when He suffered, He made no threats.
Instead He entrusted himself to Him who judges justly.
1 Peter 2: 22f

Jesus gave us an example of how we can deal with injustice. We are invited to follow Him in His footsteps to be like Him. Like Jesus we want to be children of the heavenly Father to spread His blessings on earth. He his our benchmark how to behave in our daily life.
It is our carnal nature which wants to protect us against any attack. Bad words are replied by bad words; with bitterness we protest against lies and evil rumors. When we are cheated financially we go to court. We always like to protect our prosperity, or our pride. Nobody should do us maliciously wrong. And if one does it accidentally, we expect a strong apology. Yes indeed, so hard we are arrested in the old I! So strongly the pride and the fear of loss govern us!
Do we not trust the One who judges over everything? We should rather research deeply what has been hurt in us. Is it our pride, our good reputation? Are we running into fear of existence when something valuable is taken away from us unjustly? Or do we like to have more as we already have; grabs us the greed? Do we feel to be ignored, or are we overestimating ourselves? Actually our old I always feel hurt in pride, stubbornness, greed, bossiness, sorrows and fear…..
How Jesus responded to persecution? In Nazareth they attacked Him. However He went away right through the crowd. The ancient patriarchs Abraham and Isaac continued their trek when disputes arose with the inhabitants. They did not insist on their right. The peace was more important for them.
They all totally relied on the heavenly Father who cared for them. They all knew that God will speak justice. They even prayed for the enemies that they will not be punished too hard. They had compassion with the opponents. They knew about the terrifying judgment for the lost evildoers.
Yes, we will do it in the same way. We go on our way for the sake of the peace, will not insist on our right. We give our sorrows, fears, violations to our Father in Heaven. Our pride and greed may die; we want Jesus life in us! We want to praise God in all situations, as He cares for us also when others want to do me evil.

Thank You, Jesus, You suffered injustice also through me, and You did not fight back. You forgave also when I have been the reason of your pain. I will do it in the same way. I will trust You, so You can bless my life. Yes, in You I am safe.
