Intercession – 2017.02.13

“I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.”
Ezekiel 22:30
Yesterday we read how God gave the humans to their sin. They got plenty of what they wanted. So plenty they became ill. He offered them the mercy of the gospel but they just laughed about it. When God gives people away, they are lost in the maelstrom of hell. God doesn’t need to judge them, they judge themself. He doesn’t need to punish them, they themself are punishment enough.
But God wants to save people! So He searches for people that step up to the judgment and advocate for their country and their people! God wants to save, but where are the people that want to be saved? Since He gave the earth to the humans He can do little without permission. And so He needs to be asked for help before He can do so.
Where are those that pray on their knees for their family? Where are those that fight for their friends and family like Abraham? Where are those that fight for their people like Moses? In Ezekiel’s time there where non, but today?
There are so many Christians in our country, where are they? What do they do all day? Do they think like heathens:’ Good is what is good for me and everything else isn’t my business. Those are responsible for themself – they could read the bible if they want to. At least I am well off. …’ There is a lot of thinking like that with us, thinking that is the opposite of what’s written in the bible. There is so much that isn’t honoring Jesus but is against Him.
Every day we get 24 hours closer to the second coming. Are we getting ready? Do we muck around? We don’t need to become awesome preachers, but we should do what Jesus puts into our heart, and when we pray for our country, friends, family, colleagues, and some group in need. We can pray for politicians, the problems of the world, … there is so much we should pray for!
We need to revive our prayer so we can gain victory. We need to pave a road for Jesus. We want great blessings for our love. What is the price of a saved soul? How much do we work for money so we don’t have the energy left for prayer?
In Ezekiel’s time God didn’t find anyone who wanted to fight for the country, but today we should say: “Here I am, fill me with Your spirit of prayer!
Lord help me to organize my life so I have the time for prayer. Pull me towards You so I begin to search for Your presence! Put love to my neighbors deep into my heart so I want to save them! I don’t want to stay indifferent or lukewarm, I want to be filled with the fire of Your Spirit!
