Jesus and the Children – 2014.09.23

Then some people brought little children to Jesus to have him bless them and pray for them. But the disciples told the people not to do that. Jesus said, “Don’t stop children from coming to me! Children like these are part of the kingdom of God.”
Matthew 19: 13ff
Jesus is the friend of the children! He knows everything about them. His blessing is worth more than all money and property. Its protection is better than all the weapons. He has time for them. He accepts them as they are. Even if they are sometimes naughty, cheeky or dirty: He loves them and takes them in His strong arms! In Him they can have a good cry, He comforts them better than any mom. In Him they may be weak; He is their support. In Him they find understanding, forgiveness, encouragement, comfort and acceptance. He really is the friend of children!
He knows how vulnerable the children are handed over to the authorities. So He wants to have them close at hand. The children feel comfortable with Him. You know, He cares for them.
Jesus wants us to have such a relationship with Him, like His little friends: An all-natural, childlike relationship. He don’t like the "pious Super Saints" who make big speeches, but can not grab. He sees the many mothers and fathers who sacrifice themselves without self-interest for their children. He sees the many small acts that many handouts that many small and large investments in children, the love and hope that we put into it, He sees it and appreciates it very much.
Just as the mothers and fathers know that their heavenly Father cares for them and they can ask Him for anything, so they can freely and unencumbered care for their children. You can set an example of faith in our Heavenly Father and the children grow naturally with a strong faith. What can we do for our children that is better?
Please, become like a small child! Then you can receive all the treasures of heaven. Then you have a Heavenly Father who has mercy in all things about you, who loves you and whom you can pour out your heart. He loves His children!
Thank you, Heavenly Father for being so close to me! You are not a merciless judge, but my Father who accepts and loves me. You are the one who always helps me, who always has time for me and is there for me in good times and in bad. You have mercy on me, when I feel bad and need help. You are my wonderful father!
