Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

Jesus replied: “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.
We can not know Jesus, if we focus only on the opinions of others, books, lectures and sermons, or even on the Bible. They broaden our knowledge, our knowledge of God and Jesus. But we can not know Jesus as the Messiah, Christ and Savior through them. Only the Spirit of God can show it us.
He works in us and brings us knowledge of God and Jesus. He wants us to take deeper and deeper into the secrets of heaven. He is just waiting for us when we finally open to Him, so that He can work. He wants us so much to get to know Jesus personally and have fellowship with Him!
It helps me a lot if I pray God to speak to me during my Bible reading. This makes it very personal, sometimes uncomfortably close, because sometimes God wants to correct me in any things. But most of the time I get comfort, strength and courage when I read God’s Word.
I need a time of silence, when I could talk with God. At home there are always some disturbances, so it is better for me to go for a walk. That is where I can praise Him and He answers my questions. We can freely share each other‘s company.
Also, fasting has been proven to know God or look deeper into His secrets. Most of the time God has not spoken to me during the Lent, but afterwards. But it has been a good and well-tried time! If you eat nothing or only little after lunch, then you feel much lighter in the morning, you do not need to eat and do not feel so weak.
The worship of God along with brothers and sisters is important. Because God is enthroned in the praises! He comes down where one praises Him. He works there and gives knowledge, healing, joy, encouragement and courage. It is much easier to touch God and be touched by Him together with brothers and sisters.
Only my critical thinking I must avoid. Then we can question anything and deny criticism; in the end there is nothing left of what we can believe. Knowledge and thinking is good, but we should put the reins on our thoughts. We should decide not always to think in the same negative and destructive way. We choose better to trust God and His Word!
Thank you, Jesus, You are a God to touch! I can experience you, know you and have a fellowship with you! You are no spiritual knowledge, construct or invention; You are the Son of the living God! You are the one who has created me and You are the Creator and Sustainer of the universe. You are my mighty, close, loving, merciful God!
