Jesus Christ, the Lord – 05.07.2016

Jesus is the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.
Acts 4,11ff

A lot of arguing takes place regarding the correct teaching. Christians fight over the correct understanding of Holy Communion, whether baptism is only for adults, or also for children. There are so many things we can fight about! But one thing we may never fight about is Jesus Christ. He is and remains the Saviour. Those who theorize Christ into the role of superhuman or anointed by God or some extra special human usually do not realize that they are among those who want to crucify Christ for a second time. He asks: why are you persecuting me?
Our leaders are the builders of God’s temple. But when they belittle Jesus, He becomes the stone against which they are destroyed. Only in Him as person and not in some arbitrary teachings will we find salvation. No other name is given us, by which we may be saved, but the name Jesus Christ!
When we are in trouble, no theories can help, we need the Lord of lords, Jesus. When we die, we need His strong hand to carry us through. When we are sick, beaten, lonely and without comfort, no books can help, only the Lord Jesus.
John accurately states: he who denies that Jesus Christ is Saviour, the Son of God, come in the flesh (as human being) also denies the entire salvation by Jesus. Thus we need to put ourselves to the test: what place does Jesus have in our writings from which we learn, we want to put our leaders to the test. There are many tempters, be careful!
We also want to test whether we and our leaders have an active relationship with the Lord Jesus. If we have to hide behind teachings, where is Jesus?  Please, if we are in agreement about Jesus, why fight?  We want to respect each others’ opinions. We do not fight about Jesus. Either-or… No, we won’t be part of that!

Thank You Jesus! You have saved me completely, saved and freed! You are the Lord to whom I pray, the Son of the Father, the Lord of the universe! Thank You for being there, for caring! Yes, I love You!
