“Lazarus come out!” – 2017.02.22

Jesus called in a loud voice, Lazarus come out!
John 11:43
The friend of Jesus, Lazarus, has died. Jesus wept when He heard that. But then He went to the tomb to call him back from the dead. He knew the will of God. God has told Him to do that and Jesus always listened to His Father`s voice. What the Father says will happen certainly. So Jesus could approach the grave with great confidence to call him out. The stone which laid across the entrance was taken away before, so that the exit was free.
And indeed, Lazarus really came out the grave where he has lain for three days in great heat. His sister Martha had warned of bad odor. Imagine how frightened and joyfull at the same time the sisters and the people were about this miracle. Many Jews came to believe in Jesus. The pharisees, however, still wanted to kill Him, could not accept Him as a Son of God.
What is greater than a resurrection of a man from the dead after three days? Jesus is Lord over death! The death is no longer final, is not the final word any more. There is more!
Jesus considers the life of many people and so called Christians too as dead like Lazarus: Their life is boring, has no purpose, no hope, no way out… . And suddenly He, the Lord of life and death arrives  and calls you out of a life like a grave. Will you hear Him? Who will trust Him and follow Him? Who will penetrate from death to life? Who will accept the hope Jesus is offering? He is calling you: Come out! What is your answer?
There are many Christians who are living lukewarm, enjoy their daily life, go to church, have bible studies, singing in a choir, watch TV in the evening, are together with friends. But is there fire of faith to be seen, are they burning for Jesus? In reality their relationship with Jesus is dead. They only talk about Him, their prayers are weak. But Jesus still calls: Come out!
Jesus still asks us to follow Him totally. To do that in a shallow way is not sufficient. He wants to give us all, total redemption. He wants to be total Lord over us, wishes to take us by our hands. It is like an exchange: We give Him all, trust Him totally and He gives us everything which we need. But it the most beautiful thing to be together with Him. The fulfillment of life!  All people receive that when they dare to leave their comfort zone. Who walk with Jesus has the best Friend!
Yes, Jesus, I want to walk with You! You call me and I will follow you, I get rid of my bad odor and give my life totally to You. For I know, one day at Your side is better than thousand without You. Here I am!
