Oh, that would be nice! Sit around all day and listen to worship music and the others have to do the work! Yes, that would be something for me !! But I’m afraid that would not please the Lord.
The point is that we must listen to the Lord before we get down to work. It is about him taking care of us, not us taking care of him.
It is important to me in the morning to speak first to the Lord. Good Morning! Thanks I slept well! Thanks, you’re there, you love me and want to be with me today! – Something like this should be our first words and thoughts. For a long time I got up early, long before the others, to spend time with Him. The Lord wants to bless us, but unfortunately He often finds no receiver!
In the Bible there are many promises for the people who live from rest and work. As well, if we remember that the Lord will bless our work and save us a lot of detours! As well, when He gives ideas about how to solve a problem! How great if we find things without searching for a long time! How great when God captures people for us!
Martha had planned to care for Jesus. But He can quite do it alone. And He knows how to give it the most sense. Martha’s labor of love was in vain! – So there are now many people who are striving with all their strength for the Lord. But it is their power that they waste, they are their plans and their goals. At Jesus’ feet we get direction for our lives and for our actions. Because He sets the priorities, shows what is important. There He arouses new desires and sometimes shows us that we put our strength in senseless things.
It’s good for me to sit at Jesus’ feet. There is my source of strength, there He gives me courage, gives hopes, comforting me builds. There He talking to me; – I may be quiet times. Our life gets more power and is targeted if he may determine where we are going.
Everything has its time, the be-silent and be-active. Only it must be proportionate. I think of the Psalm:
” Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.  Unless the Lord watches over the city,  the guards stand watch in vain.   In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat—for he grants sleep tothose he loves. “(Ps. 127, 1 f.)
Thank you, Lord, You care for all things! You want to bless me and the labor of my hands. Yes, I’m counting on you. I go boldly forward and do my work, and you put your blessing on it! As well, when we are together!
