Living faith – 2017.03.20

So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For, “In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.” And, “But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.” But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved. Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
This is what the ancients were commended for …
By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did …
By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death …
By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family …
By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.
By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign countryn …
And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.
See Hebrews 10:35 – 12:2
Faith puts us in motion! Trust in God makes us strong and courageous! By the faith we can pray and talk to God! In prayer, we look to Jesus who takes our hand and brings us home into the faith. Nothing is impossible for Him and us, when we stick to Jesus.
Thank You, Jesus, for Your faith and for Your trust into the Heavenly Father! Yes, I want to follow Your example and trust the Father in all matters, because He wants my best. I don’t want to waste energy on unimportant matters, instead I want to follow You, my savior and helper!
