Love heals all wounds – 2016.07.01

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.  If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.  If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
1 Corinthians 13, 1 – 3

We all know people who are as described above. They talk with the tongues of angels until they get what they want. And then they drop you like a hot potato. Others are like a trumpet, trumpet everything beyond what was supposed to remain secret. They know everything and have simple solutions for all problems. Some politicians are those droning trumpets. People believe it and are often bitterly disappointed. Then there are saints who one admires. They know the Bible by heart apparently, perform miracles and rally the people around them. But they are hollow, think only of themselves and their reputation or their bank account. There are also those who never spare themselves and are first everywhere at work and at giving donations. But they themselves are driven and only drive others.
How many disappointments have we experienced from other people! And we never want to experience it again. Therefore a suspicion arises in us, and we all look very, very closely. The worst are the disappointments by the parents or a loved one. This sets real wounds.
God is different. He is genuine love. But we are marked by abuse and disappointment. How can we trust this God as Father?
He has lots and lots of patience and His long-suffering is infinite. He can be tested. He comes to meet us and our mistrust. He only expects that we consider him so that the result is not fixed beforehand by our distrust. We must be open. If we check and remember Him: It’s true, He is truly the God of love! – Then we must be consistent and thank Him. Whoever everything explained away, will never come to an end.
God wants to heal the wounds caused in us by rejection and abuse. He himself is this healing. Because you can trust Him in every situation. He is the father who lovingly cares for His children. Come check His love, and hide yourself no longer behind your wounds!

Thank You, Jesus, You are the God of love! You’re a God to take hold of, close to those who call upon Him sincerely. You are the God who lovingly takes us in his arms and quenches all our pain. Yes, to You alone my heart comes to rest. Thank You!!
