Love is shown – 2015.05.12

Standing behind him at his feet and crying, she began to wet his feet with her tears. She wiped them with her hair, kissed them, and poured the oil on them.
Luke 7:38
It is not in fact immaterial to Jesus, how we face Him. He’s not cool, not a strikt observer who pays attention to the form. He sees the heart. And it moves His heart when we dearly love Him, when we are bruised or when we fervently cry for help for our own sins; – Yeah, he likes our feelings!
Jesus was a guest at a spiritual dignitary. When a woman, who was known throughout the city as a sinner, got to know this, she came to Him from behind, cried, wiped His feet with her hair, kissed Him and anointed them with precious oil. The Pharisees thought that if the man were a prophet, he would know what kind of woman this is. Jesus saw his thoughts and asked him: Someone had two debtors. One owed him 50 dollars, the other 500. Both could not pay their debts, and so he waived their fees. Which of the two will probably be more grateful? – Simon says: Of course, tho one who had the 500 dollars debt! – And Jesus continues and looks at the woman: When I came into your house, you’ve given me no water to wash my feet; but she has poured out her tears over my feet and wiped them with her hair. You’ve given me no kiss of greeting; but she did not stop kissing my feet. You did not anoint my head with oil; but she has anointed my feet with her valuable, fragrant oil. Do you understand? Her many sins are forgiven, because she showed me so much love. But to whom little is forgiven, shows little love as well. And to the woman He said, ‘Your sins are forgiven. Your faith has made you well. Go in peace!’.
Has our love to Jesus become cold? Then let you be shown your sins! The larger your debt, the greater the forgiveness and the greater the joy of forgiveness and love for Jesus. He is the Savior and Redeemer! – But if I do not need salvation or rescue …. ??
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted;
he saves those whose spirits are crushed. (Psalms 34:18)
Thank you, Jesus, You see my heart! You know that I love You. Yes, I love You with all my heart, with all my soul, with all mind and with all my strength. You are my friend, my Savior, my Redeemer and Savior, without You I would be lost. But You are merciful to me, pardon my guilt, take me in Your arms and heal my broken heart. I can’t help loving You!
