I sought the Lord, and He answered me;

Those who look to Him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.

Some people are sitting in front of a fireplace to warm them up. The fire burns bright and lit up their faces. Only one person is turning his back to the fire to warm it. His face is in the dark, one could not see it. So it is with our eye: Whereto I see that will be reflected in my face.If I look at Jesus and only at Him , my face shines because it reflects Him. If I look at sorrows, or at faults of other people, at injustice everywhere, my face darkens. It gets lines of worry and not of laughter. When sin seduces my eyes they darken and I have to feel ashame later.Jesus wishes that we always have an eye on Him, that we think about Him, about His character, His thoughts, His emotions. His words can touch our hearts and influence them.We can worship and talk to Him. The whole day through we can walk with Him, listen to Him during our work and in society. The eye contact with Him should never cease.
I sought the Lord, and He answered me, he delivered me from all my fears.So many sorrows, existential fears afflict and oppress us. But if I can throw all my sorrows on to Him, because I know Him and are sure that He cares about me, then my fears are gone. He looks after me with greatest care.When I remember my sins and think about them I feel ashame. However, when I have my eyes on Jesus who forgives and say yes to me then I am under His protection and can rejoice. That`s redemption! Even if other want to remind me on them and want to blame me I may remain under His protection with joy and relaxed. But you have..! No,He has forgiven me. He is at my side and protects me. Who is now able to accuse me? Who will judge me?How beneficial, redemptive, releasing it is when you have your eyes on Jesus steadily. He rejoices my heart. Everybody should see His peace and His joy on my face.
Thank you, Jesus, for Your yes to me. You are protecting me. Yes, I am indeed totally covered and safe in You! If I have my eyes on You, sorrows and fear disappear. Instead there is piece and joy in me. You are my wonderful Lord!
