My Father! – 2017.03.29

Our Father in heaven …
Matthew 6:9
My father was a sailor. Rarely he was at home. Thus as children we were actually without a father. His absence had a strong impact on us. Each child needs a father so that it can grow properly. The longing for a father was deep in us, my sisters and me. the whole life through. We jearn for security, strength, safety, protection, acceptance, joint activities… .
Regretfully there are many who grew up without a father, or with a father who is not a good example. This damages our souls.
How soothing that our Heavenly Father is not so. He is always present, cares for His children tenderly. He understands us, is our fortress, comforts and helps us in all bad situations. You can tell Him everything. He goes with you through thick and thin – what a super Father!
He alone can fulfill our longing and He likes to do that. He truly wants to be closely at the side of His children. They need not to beg and push at Him. He wants to talk with you, has pleasure to fulfill your wishes and needs. Yes, He always is near at your side and likes to walk with you.
When my father was at home he always had to blame something, never saw anything valuable in us. In vain we waited for praise and recognition although we sometimes did everything to receive same.
Praise God, our Father in heaven is not so!  He pours out His love and  appreciation over us unlimited. Unfortunately many are not open for that due to lack of faith and inability to decide – what a pity!
When I pray for other people I realize how much God loves them, understands and values them. Then it comes to my mind to ask: Does He value me as well? Oh yes, He does! He always will find something in me which pleases Him. Therefore I am really happy to have such a great Father! And I will do everything to deepen my relationship to Him daily. Yes, there are still some barriers in me to overcome. But with His help I will be able to receive His love, His acknowledgment.
Thank You, Father, You are aways at my side. I can come to You always to receive Your council, Your solace, Your good words. You forgive my faults and my sin, I am free! Help me to overcome the rest of my small-scale faith to fully trust you with all of my heart.
