Even when you wake up, your thoughts start turning around the work of the day. What is today? What should I not forget? Will the craftsman come today? There is a lot that we do not know and what might disturb us. But I do not want that!!
This unrest, this stress, these worries … no, I do not want that. In the morning when I wake up, I want to see my beloved Lord. I will praise Him that He is here today. He is at my side and takes me through. Although there will be difficulties, He is still there and is on top of things. Yes, on Him I can count, on people not always.
I want, and that’s a decision, I want not be defeated by worries and get in a bad mood. My heart, wake up! My soul, do not sleep! I will praise Him for all that He has done so far! I will set my eyes upon Him, my strong Savior, my helper and comforter! I want to let me fill of His joy, His peace and His power. Yes, He gives me courage and strength, with Him I can go my way merrily. Therefore I want to praise Him.
He does not forget me. Even though I live almost at the end of the world: He is here as well. When I look out of the window, I see the sky and the clouds. Then I know again: His mercy extends above the sky, and His faithfulness, as far as the clouds pass. Yes, His goodness and faithfulness envelop me here and today. I can happily get up and start the day. He is here!
Yes, thank you Jesus, my Lord and helper, You are with me today! Your grace and truth enfold me. The enemy can rage and be furious as much as he want: You hold me! You even hold me very tight, no one can harm me what You do not want. With You I’m safe, secure under Your mighty wings. With You I can gladly start in the next day, for You are my strong helper! Yes, I want to thank You and praise You with all my heart!
