Honor the Lord with your wealth,
with the firstfruits of all your crops;
then your barns will be filled to overflowing,
and your vats will brim over with new wine.
Proverbs 3:9+10

I was deeply touched by above words when I read them today. They delighted me overly. I was reminded of the Communion: Bread from corn and wine. In addition Psalm 23 came into my mind: “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows.”
Formerly I honored the Lord by giving 10% of my earnings. For some time is was even 20%. But the Lord did not make me a millionaire. We always had just enough to live on, never overflowing. We never had been really rich. The joy of giving then decreased slowly. Sometimes I gave 5% only. But one day I understood that we are not allowed to negotiate with the Lord. You give and you exspect something in return, a financial blessing. No, the Lord gives as He wants to do it. Everything is grace!
We have to overcome our small thinking. Our Lord wants more than 10 percent. He wants all from us, our total fortune and wealth, the best of us, ourselves as it is described in Romans 12:1: “Your body should be a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God!” Yes, then God`s fullness is coming over me: His Holy Spirit, Jesus in the living word that seizes me after being broken as a grain of wheat in the earth. When I die and give Him all inclusive my guilt and failures, He can enter, can fill me totally, can be my King and Lord. What do I want more! He now reigns in me, does miracles, also through me. That is more than I, little man, can understand.

Thank You, Jesus, You have opened  me the way of blessing and grace. Like a spring rain your love falls on me. It is so wonderful to live with You.
