You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
Psalm 16:11
Psalm 16 has a big influence on my life. It is such a beautiful and meaningful one that I want to write to you a few verses. God himself will speak through His Word:
Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge. I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.” Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more. I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods or take up their names on my lips. Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places, surely I have a delightful inheritance. I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure; You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand
I am very grateful to the Lord that HE leads me through life. Sometimes I made roundabout ways or I started to run after false gods. But HE has always corrected me and has brought me back to the right path. My place, which HE showed me, is pleasant. It’s nice to be where the Lord wants us to. It fills our hearts with satisfaction. For HE has given me the gifts to fill that place. Sometimes I put my own goals, but every time I was so stressful, having no rest and no satisfaction. Because of this I am even more thankful to the Lord for taking my hand and leading me! Today I can understand some things which God has allowed. These difficulties were necessary in order to seek Him more and listen to Him more. There is nothing unnecessary, nothing happening without His love. Yes, I have a delightful inheritance. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places. So now I can go my way together with Him. Together with Him means I can participate in the joy of God, where formerly discontent and struggle for survival had ruled. There were many stops on my way. And this one is one of them. There were always certain places that God had determined. Maybe the place where I am now is only a stop too, but HE determined it and HE will determine the time to leave it. So I can trust my way to Him being calm and serene, happy and thankful. He is the Lord!
Thank you, Heavenly Father, for Your wonderful promise! You always keep your Word! Thank you that I can be close to You and can find my way with You. There are joy and confidence. You are a wonderful Father who takes good care of His children!
