My way – 2015.08.20

The Lord directs the steps of each.
How could man understand his way?
Proverbs 20: 24
Sometimes we are doing well, sometimes not. Sometimes we are on a sunny hill and sometimes we fight in the dark valley. Sometimes we are full of power and high spirited, and sometimes we are sick and weak. Sometimes everything succeeds, sometimes nothing at all. Who can understand that?
Some are born in poverty and hunger, some in abundance and have everything. Some become old and grey and some have died early. Some are born in rich countries, some in very poor regions. Who decides that? Or is it coincidence?
Do we have a right to health, holiday, long life, wealth? Do we have to fight for and earn everything? Are the poor somehow being punished? Are those who believe in God, automatically doing well? Or does God deliberately take them through dark valleys, as if to punish them? All questions to which there is no answer.
No man can understand the path of his own life. Again and again the question: Why? Why must I suffer this? Our way is like a puzzle that has been shaken: all mixed up. Some parts can be seen, some not. Some are beautiful, others we do not like at all. Or as an embroidered tablecloth, one side has a beautiful pattern, on the other the threads are too messed up to recognize a picture, there is no pattern.
It is well, if we seek our security in God. If we can say, that He is Lord over my life. If we know that he brings direction to me, even though I can’t yet see it. He keeps his hand over me and not everything affects me everything, but only what He trusts me to cope with. It’s good when we know that our way is not in the dark, but there is one who watches over it. God knows my every step, he knows the way from beginning to end. He directs my steps to the goal. And he makes sure that I reach it.
Only in the close relationship with my Lord, I can say: The good things I have taken from him and I will also accept the bad things from Him. He is the Lord, whom I thank.
Thank Heavenly Father, You know me. You know my path and my every move. You know about my difficulties and never let me out of your eyes. You have a goal with me and will reach it. Even when I go my own ways, you’re there and have ways and means to bring me back to you. You are my Lord, to whom I can confide.
